Oscars 2013: 'Argo' wins Best Picture, 'Pi' scoops four

After four hours of pomp and prestige, last night's/this morning's 85th Academy Awards finally offered up a full roster of Oscar winners. As predicted, Ben Affleck's Argo walked away with the award for Best Picture, whilst also picking up the Oscars for Adapted Screenplay and Film Editing (3). Leading the field amongst the main winners on the night were Ang Lee's Life of Pi (4), Tom Hooper's Les Misérables (3) and Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained (2). Overall, it was a largely successful ceremony, galvanised by moments of brilliance (courtesy mostly of host for the night Seth MacFarlane), yet also encumbered by long stretches of musical numbers - the Academy's chosen theme for the night being movie soundtracks.
