Cannes 2013: Full programme announced

The lineup for the 66th Cannes Film Festival, which takes place from 15-26 May, was announced in Paris this morning at 11am. As per usual, the opening and closing films had both been confirmed well in advance of the full programme reveal - with Baz Luhrmann's sweeping 1930s epic The Great Gatsby kicking off proceedings (out of competition), and Jérôme Salle's South African thriller Zulu wrapping up the festivities. We also knew about the selection of Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring, an independently-spirited American teen drama starring our very own Emma Watson. New films from the Coen brothers, Soderbergh, Polanski, Nicolas Winding Refn, Hirokazu Kore-eda and Asghar Farhadi also made the grade.
